Keystone Takes “Green Living” One Step Further by Adding New Electric Charging Station in Parking Garage at Sophia Square
Carmel, IN – Electric vehicle owners will now have the luxury of hooking up to an electric wall charging station in the underground parking garage at Sophia Square in downtown Carmel. The 5-story mixed-use structure developed by Keystone Group will be the first in the city to offer an electric charging station to the public. The charging station is not only affordable, but is also safe and convenient to use. The station is located on the north wall of the P1 level in the first parking spot just east of the resident elevator. It has a capacity up to 7.7 kw / 240 volts and uses standardized components that protect people and electric vehicles against overloads and short-circuits.
Carmel Arts District patrons are able to charge their electric vehicles while shopping at Sophia Square or during a visit to area attractions in the arts district. Furthermore, Sophia Square apartment residents will have the convenient option of charging their vehicles overnight. Electric vehicles are expected to be fully charged within 4 to 6 hours.
This is the first electric vehicle charging station in the city of Carmel. The economic goals of the U.S. expect having a million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. In future, Keystone will install additional charging stations at its other properties.
